Beverly’s Web site-- The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) offers Information on Beverly’s Property in Morris and seeks further input on Draft Management Plan. It has launched a new section on its web site that provides information on its Draft Management Plan for the Beverly’s property in Morris and enables the public to offer comment on it. These pages of the DEEP website can be reached at www.ct.gov/deep/boating and the email address for comment on the draft management plan is dep.boating.division@ct.gov. Copies of the draft management plan are also available at Morris Town Hall.

“We are eager to receive additional comment on how we could operate Beverly's in keeping with our goals: to be a good neighbor in the community, to be a partner in protecting the lake as an important natural resource and to provide additional public access to Connecticut’s largest natural lake for boaters and fishermen,” said Deputy Commissioner Susan Frechette.

This is an opportunity for those who would like to use Bantam Lake more as a multi-use outdoor theater (great pike fishery!) to give suggestions and opinions about the proposed DEEP Draft Management Plan. Those who love to float on its open waters, walk and sail on its frozen surface and fish year round have a chance to be heard. Visit the web site or write.

Written comments on it can also be sent to: Department of Energy and Environmental Protection-Boating Division Marine Headquarters, Attn: Mike Payton, 333 Ferry Road, P.O. Box 280, Old Lyme, CT 06371-0280.

2011 BANQUET

35th CHAPTER ANNIVERSARY

The 2011 annual fundraisers for the Chapter were the Banquet, Bucket Raffle, Auction and Silent Auction.  Note: There was no Main Raffle in  2010 and 2011. Chapter president Glenn LaFreniere thanked all who financially supported the Chapter. Dominic Falcone and Martin Petersen co-chaired these fundraisers and banquet.

Bob Perrella, Dom and Marty obtained donations for the raffles and door prizes. Their diligent efforts and our generous contributors resulted in a substantial increase in the Chapter’s treasury. Dominic Falcone, Martin Petersen, Steve Farnham and Glenn LaFreniere worked on the raffles at the Banquet.

The Chapter looks forward to the banquet and fundraisers in 2012 for its 36th anniversary.
