Hello & Happy Holiday’s Everyone,
This month our Chapter meeting will be held on December 17th at the ION bank community center, instead of the first Wednesday of the month when it’s normally held. This month’s activities will be a tackle swap and a little Christmas cheer with your TU friends. A good time to swap some tall stories and fishing tips.
Our Annual Chapter Banquet has been scheduled to be held on March 27th at the Crystal Room in Naugatuck, which is being held at the same restaurant as last year. Tickets will be able to be purchased online or by phone just like last year. We have managed to hold the price for tickets at $35.00 dollars each or $65.00 per couple which is the same amount as last year. More information on the times and menu will follow. Please contact Ed Dearborn at 203-263-6229 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org, who will gladly accept cash or checks from anyone who would like to attend.
The seasonal fly tying has started on the second, third and fourth Wednesday every month at Stop & Shop in Southbury and continue out thru March of next year. December’s fly tying will be held on the first and second Wednesday of that month only due to the change in the schedule for our monthly meeting. All are invited to attend and share in the fun.
We have a Position for an assistant Events Chair to share arranging speakers and or activities for the monthly meetings during the year with Ernie Ludwig who can be reached at email: email@example.com or 203-560-2053. This involves 4 hours total of someone's time per year and the meetings are held at his my house. See schedule below for potential activity openings. A list of potential speakers to contact will be available. Please consider supporting our need.

Recently a hard working group of 38 Naugatuck High School (NHS), Air Force Junior ROTC cadets cleaned the east riverbank of the Naugatuck River and the Greenway Trail in Linden Park in Naugatuck. Master Sergeant Gary Morrone, USAF (ret) and Lieutenant Colonel Valerie Lofland, USAF (ret) led the cadets in this effort to improve the quality of life in the Naugatuck River Valley. This the fifth consecutive year (tenth time) that the NHS ROTC has completed spring and fall conservation projects along the Naugatuck River. Now trail walkers, paddlers, anglers and wildlife observers will have an improved scenic view of the river and its riparian habitat.
More than a dozen bags of light debris, a skateboard, metal soccer goal and net, truck tires, basketball, sneakers, lengths of board and plastic and metal pipes were removed. The project was organized by Joe Savarese and Bob Gregorski of the Naugatuck River Watershed Association (NRWA) and sponsored by the Borough of Naugatuck including the Mayor’s office, Public Works and Recreation Departments. Ron Tymula Manager of Student Transportation of America in Naugatuck donated the bus transportation. The Naugatuck-Pomperaug Chapter Trout Unlimited subsidized the project.

Please feel free to share this information with any women anglers or conservationists you might now. Let's all work to expand our influence.
